Loulou's Birthday

For Loulou's 9th birthday she chose to have a Pioneer Party inspired by Laura Ingalls and the Little House books. She and her friends wore their pioneer dresses and bonnets and churned butter, made clove apples and danced around to fiddle music. For lunch we had baked beans, cornbread, strawberries and lemonade. For a treat the girls took home a paper bag filled containing their clove apple, a stick of penny candy, and a bright shiny new penny.

Science Fair

The kids took part in a science fair in early March. The oldest three each had a display, and Zarli took an active part in the experimenting. In the attached picture, he's lecturing his siblings on the wetting properties of water.
